We coordinate several emergency services-related classes, including:

• Fire service training

• Emergency medical services training

• American Heart Association CPR/ AED/ First Aid training

Fire Service Training

New York State Division of Homeland Security and Emergency Services Office of Fire Prevention and Control (OFPC) develops training standards and course curricula for fire training throughout the state.  Certified State Fire Instructors (SFIs) are assigned to Cattaraugus County to provide local training programs such as Basic Exterior Firefighting Operations (formerly known as Scene Support Operations), Interior Firefighting Operations (formerly known as Firefighter 1), and several Apparatus Operator and Technician courses.

Courses are scheduled through our office in conjunction with the SFIs and requests should be directed through Deputy Fire Coordinators.

Emergency Medical Services Training

New York State Department of Health Bureau of Emergency Medical Services (EMS) develops training and certification requirements, in accordance with National EMS Training Standards, for all levels of EMS in the state.  Certified Instructor Coordinators (CICs) contract with Cattaraugus County to provide local courses for original and refresher certification for the Certified First Responder (CFR) and Emergency Medical Technician (EMT).  Courses are scheduled through our office in conjunction with the CICs in a manner to best cover the county geographically with training opportunities.

American Heart Association CPR/ AED/ First Aid Training

We are an authorized training center for the American Heart Association (AHA). We offer several different AHA courses that will meet the first aid and CPR training needs of you or your organization.  Our AHA-Certified Instructors can instruct these courses on location at your agency, facility, organization, or business.  In addition, we offer parts 2 & 3 for the E-Learning courses offered by AHA which allows the student to take the "classroom" portion of training online and then come to our office to complete the skills portion and achieve certification.
