The Office of Emergency Services issues identification tags to all of the Cattaraugus County's first responders - fire and EMS personnel. Call (716) 938-2212 with questions about ID tags or to set up an appointment to get your ID tags.
Each Cattaraugus County First Responder will be issued two (2) ID tags:
Identification Tag: Color will depend on the qualifications of its recipient.
- Red: Interior Firefighter
- Yellow: Exterior Firefighter
- Blue: Emergency Medical Services only
- White: Fire Police, Auxiliary, Member-only (no training), CERT
- Orange: HazMat
Accountability Tag: Green in color, used to account for the responder during response.
There are 3 instances in which you may be issued first responder ID tags:
- New member/ never received ID tags before.
The new member should first contact their Fire Chief for instructions on receiving new tags. Tags can be issued directly from the Office of Emergency Services in Little Valley between 8 a.m. and 4 p.m. on most weekdays; call (716) 938-2212 to setup an appointment before you come to the office. Tags may also be obtained through the mail after emailing appropriate files, contact (716) 938-2212 for details. - Updated tags due to a change in your name, FD, training, or qualifications.*
In most cases, if you already have a set of first responder ID tags, new tags can be issued without you coming to our office, if you so choose. We do require that your old tags are turned in to us (mailed or dropped off) prior to issuing a new set of tags which can be mailed back to you. Call (716) 938-2212 for assistance with updated ID tags. - Tags lost, stolen, or damaged and replacement tags are needed.
If you already have/ had a set of first responder ID tags, replacement tags can be issued without you coming to our office, if you so choose. All old tags in your possession must be turned in to us before new tags are issued. Call (716) 938-2212 for assistance with replacement ID tags.
The attached form (below) will need to be completed in order to get new, updated, or replacement ID tags. For new ID tags, bring this form with you to the Office of Emergency Services. For updated or replacement tags, mail this form to the address below only after calling (716) 938-2212 to ensure we can process your request by mail. Thank you.
