JAIL VISITATION HOURS HAVE CHANGED

TUESDAYS: 2:45 PM - 10 PM

FRIDAYS: 7:45 AM - 3 PM

NO ID – NO VISIT – NO EXCEPTIONS!

All visitors will be required to show photo identification upon every visit.

Visits are to be scheduled using the Calendly app (link at the bottom of this page). There are a predetermined number of slots for visitation during each 1 hour visit session – these slots will be scheduled as first come, first serve. Inmates are allowed up to 2 hours per week, 2 separate sessions must be scheduled.

Visitors must check in 15 minutes prior to the scheduled visit.  Failure to check in 15 minutes prior to scheduled visit will result in the visit being cancelled. 

Underage children not accompanied by a parent or legal guardian must have a written notarized letter from such adult and a phone number where that adult may be contacted.

All visitors are to legibly print their name, complete address (no box numbers), time entering the visiting room, and the inmate you are visiting. You are also required to sign the time out in which you leave. If assistance is needed, please ask the officer on duty.

 

All visitors must be able to clear the metal detector before you will be allowed into the visitation room.

If you have metal due to a surgery or hip replacement, you must bring proof from your doctor.

Our visiting room is wheelchair accessible. Please notify staff at the time of your visit if you need any assistance.

Children are not to be left in the visitation lobby, outside, or in a vehicle without a parent or guardian.  If the visitation Officer determines that a child is not being properly supervised while at the facility, the visit will be terminated.

If you are experiencing any cough, runny nose, fever, head ache, body aches, loss of taste or smell please reschedule your visit.

 

Proper Attire: 

Shorts must be to the knees or below (except infants or toddlers).  Skirts or dresses must be knee length or below.  Spaghetti straps, tank tops, or low cut shirts will not be allowed.  The only items allowed for infants to have in the visit room are a bottle, pacifier, and a burp cloth.  Undergarments with metal will not pass the metal detector. Please make sure you are not wearing metal belt buckles, underwire bras, etc. 

No hoodies, coats or jackets will be allowed in the visit room.

No low-cut or revealing tops allowed in the visit room.

All pockets should be completely empty.  **All weapons, lighters, matches, tobacco products, knives, keys, medication, phones, sharp objects, camcorders, cameras, mechanical devices, etc. should be secured in available lockers ( lockers cost a quarter, you get your quarter back when you return the key to the locker), or left in vehicle prior to check in.  These items are NOT allowed in the visitation room and will be considered contraband. 

There is to be nothing of any kind in your mouth (gum, candy, cough drops, etc.).  Please dispose of these items prior to check in.

Visitors will remove all jewelry, except wedding and or engagement bands prior to check in.  This includes all hair accessories and all body piercings. 

All body piercings must be removed.  Failure to remove body piercings will result in your entrance to visitation being denied. 

Cattaraugus County Jail is not responsible for any items brought into the facility by any visitor.  Lockers are provided for personal items to be secured in.

 

Inmate Clothing: 

No inmate clothing will be accepted through visitation. Anything that can be mailed in must be mailed (checks, papers, etc). For our updated mail policies click here

 

JAIL PERSONNEL RESERVES THE RIGHT TO DENY ANY ACCESS TO VISITATION  

Reasons may include, but are not limited to: suspicion of drug or alcohol use, personal hygiene, etc.

 

Visitation Room Rules:

ANY ORDER GIVEN TO YOU BY THE VISITATION OFFICERS WILL BE FOLLOWED IMMEDIATELY AND WITHOUT QUESTION.

VISITS MY BE TERMINATED AT ANY TIME, AT THE DISCRETION OF AN OFFICER.

Each inmate is allowed 2 visitors at one time.  If a child is at the age where he/she can be held comfortably on a lap; that is permissible and not counted as one of the two visitors.  Otherwise, the child must sit in the chair, and stay seated during the visit.  Children are not allowed to stand, kneel, or lay on the chair.  Children must be kept under control at all times.  Failure to do so will result in the visit being terminated.  All visitor’s hands will remain in their laps during the visit.

Visitors and inmates will remain seated throughout the entire visit.  If you want to leave, signal for an Officer, and they will escort you out.

If an inmate or visitor violates ANY visitation rule, his/her visit will be terminated.  The inmate will be escorted out of the visit room.  The visitor will be warned or banned from visitation, depending on the severity of the violation.  Determination of how long a visitor will be banned for, will be made by the Jail Administrator, or his/her designee.

The use of vulgar language or any disruptive behavior WILL NOT be tolerated in the lobby or the visitation room.  If a visitor or inmate is deemed guilty of either of the above, the visit will be terminated.  Visitation privileges will be restricted as a result of vulgar language or disruptive behavior.

Any inmate or visitor found passing contraband will be charged criminally. 

IT IS THE POLICY OF THE CATTARAUGUS COUNTY JAIL TO PROSECUTE TO THE FULLEST EXTENT OF THE LAW.

FAILURE TO COMPLY WITH THE RULES COULD RESULT IN TERMINATION OF YOU VISIT.
