DID YOU KNOW? 

• In New York State, an estimated 18-20 million waste tires are generated each year. 

• From 2021-2023 Cattaraugus County disposed of 564 tons of waste tires!

• An average car tire weighs 22 pounds. 

• Agricultural and industrial tires can weigh over 300 pounds!

• NYS requires a $2.50 recycling fee (per tire) on most retail new tire sales within the State.

CLEAN, DRY TIRES ACCEPTED!

• Car tire (up to 21”) $5.00

• Car tire (up to 21” on rim) $15.00

• All other tires: Scaled at the Salamanca Transfer Station

  • Large truck tires (19.5”-24.5”)

  • Agricultural & industrial tires (15”-21”)

  • Oversized (>24.5”)

• NOTE: Minimum scale fee of $20

• Additional fees for dismounting
