Beginning in January 2020, the Cattaraugus County Department of Social Services will begin using automated telephone calls and text messages to reach out to clients.

Applicants and recipients of the Medicaid, Temporary Assistance to Needy Families (TANF), Daycare, Home Energy Assistance Program (HEAP) and Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program (SNAP) may receive automated telephone calls and/or text messages to alert them to information regarding their pending application or active cases.

The Department of Social Services is utilizing this available technology to assist with the application and recertification processes by notifying applicants and recipients of appointments, deadlines and documentation needs.
