A state program that provides employment opportunities during the summertime for youth. Eligibility is based on the household income for the youth’s family must be less than 200% of poverty. Usually, the duration of the program is 6-8 weeks. In addition to the youth being exposed to work, each youth receives an educational component which includes financial literacy. For employment opportunities, the youth may be placed with a not-for-profit organization, a governmental entity or in private business.
Outreach times and locations for the 2025 Summer Youth Employment Program are set and begin on May 1st. Youth that are interested should plan on attending one of the sessions.
This program is for income-eligible youth age 14 through 20. If interested in applying, please bring the necessary paperwork to the nearest or most convenient site in your area. If you are under 18, please have your parent or legal guardian accompany you, if possible. The following documentation will be needed:
- Birth Certificate
- WORK PERMIT (if under 18)
- Social Security Card
- Photo ID (if over 18)
All sessions are from 2:30pm to 4:30pm
