Cattaraugus County Health Department was notified of sixteen additional confirmed cases of
COVID-19 residents within Cattaraugus County. The department’s active positive COVID-19
caseload is now seventy eight as there are two hundred and thirty eight residents who have
recovered from COVID-19.
The three hundred and thirteenth confirmed case is a female resident who resides in the
southeast quadrant of the county, who has no significant travel history. She is a healthcare worker and reports being in direct contact with a positive COVID-19 person. She also reports being asymptomatic (no fever, no cough, no body aches, etc.) and was tested for COVID-19 on October 8th as a screening requirement for employees and her test results on October 13th indicated that she was positive for the virus.
The three hundred and fourteenth confirmed case is a male resident who resides in the
southeast quadrant of the county, who has no significant travel history or being in direct contact with a positive COVID-19 person. He is a healthcare worker and reports being asymptomatic (no fever, no cough, no body aches, etc.). He was tested for COVID-19 on October 11th as a weekly screening requirement for employees at the facility and his test results on October 14th indicated that he was positive for the virus.
The three hundred and fifteenth confirmed case is a female resident who resides in the
southwest quadrant of the county, who has no significant travel history. She reports being in direct contact with a positive COVID-19 person and who recently developed cough and congestion. She was tested for COVID-19 on October 12th and her test results on October 14th indicated that she was positive for the virus.
The three hundred and sixteenth, through the twenty third confirmed cases are eight residents of a skilled nursing home facility located in Cattaraugus County, (6 males and 2 females) who have no significant travel history. They were tested for COVID-19 on October 12th as a screening requirement for the facility and their test result indicated that they were positive for the virus.
The three hundred and twenty fourth confirmed case is a female resident who resides in the
southeast quadrant of the county, who has no significant travel history or being in direct contact with a positive COVID-19 person. She reports being asymptomatic (no fever, no cough, no body aches, etc.). She was given a rapid test for COVID-19 on October 13th as part of a screening protocol and her test results indicated that she was positive for the virus.
The three hundred and twenty fifth confirmed case is a male resident who resides in the
southwest quadrant of the county, who has no significant travel history. He reports being in
direct contact with a positive COVID-19 person, but also reports being asymptomatic (no fever, no cough, no body aches, etc.). He was given a rapid test for COVID-19 on October 14th and his test results indicated that he was positive for the virus.
The three hundred and twenty sixth confirmed case is a male resident who resides in the
southwest quadrant of the county, who has no significant travel history or being in direct contact with a positive COVID-19 person. He developed cough, congestion, chills, sore throat, shortness of breath, diarrhea, and body aches. He was tested for COVID-19 on October 10th and his test results on October 14th indicated that he was positive for the virus.
The three hundred and twenty seventh confirmed case is a female resident who resides in the southeast quadrant of the county, who has no significant travel history or being in direct contact with a positive COVID-19 person. She developed fever, cough, shortness of breath, sweats, nausea loss of taste, and body aches. She was tested for COVID-19 on October 10th and her test results on October 14th indicated that she was positive for the virus.
The three hundred and twenty eighth confirmed case is a female resident who resides in the
southeast quadrant of the county, who has no significant travel history. She reports being in
direct contact with a positive COVID-19 person but also reports being asymptomatic (no fever, no cough, no body aches, etc.). She was tested for COVID-19 on October 10th and her test results on October 14th indicated that she was positive for the virus.
The department has begun a thorough contact tracing investigation for those individuals that
they have been in contact with and the places that they have visited.
We would like to reiterate that if any resident experience fever, cough, shortness of breath or
whole body aches they should contact their health care provider (avoid going directly to an
Urgent Care facility, or the Emergency Room before calling).
In addition, wash your hands often with soap and water for at least 20 seconds. This is
especially important after using the bathroom, coughing, sneezing or blowing your nose.
If soap and water is not available, use an alcohol-based hand sanitizer that contains a minimum of 60% alcohol.
Avoid touching your eyes, nose and mouth, especially with unwashed hands.
Disinfect commonly touched surfaces with a cleaner that is approved by the EPA against
COVID-19.
