Cattaraugus County Health Department was notified of four additional confirmed cases of COVID-19 residents within Cattaraugus County. The department’s active positive COVID-19 caseload is now seventy three as there are three hundred and eleven residents who have recovered from COVID-19.

The three hundred and ninety seventh confirmed case is a male resident who resides in the southwest quadrant of the county, who denies any significant travel history. He reports being in direct contact with a positive COVID-19 person. He recently developed diarrhea and was given a rapid test for COVID-19 on October 24th and his test results indicated that he was positive for the virus.

The three hundred and ninety eighth confirmed case is a female resident who resides in the southwest quadrant of the county, who denies any significant travel history. She reports being in direct contact with a positive COVID-19 person and recently developed nausea and body aches. She was given a rapid test for COVID-19 on October 24th and her test results indicated that she was positive for the virus.

The three hundred and ninety ninth confirmed case is a female resident who resides in the northeast quadrant of the county, who denies any significant travel history. She reports being in direct contact with a positive COVID-19 person and recently developed sore throat, body aches and fatigue. She was given a rapid test for COVID-19 on October 24th and her test results indicated that she was positive for the virus.

The four hundredth confirmed case is a female resident who resides in the northeast quadrant of the county, who denies any significant travel history or being in direct contact with a positive COVID-19 person. She recently developed fever, sore throat, chills and congestion. She was given a rapid test for COVID-19 on October 24th and her test results indicated that she was positive for the virus.

The department has begun a thorough contact tracing investigation for those individuals that they have been in contact with and the places that they have visited.
We would like to reiterate that if any resident experience fever, cough, shortness of breath or whole body aches they should contact their health care provider (avoid going directly to an Urgent Care facility, or the Emergency Room before calling).
