Cattaraugus County Health Department was notified of four additional confirmed cases of COVID-19 residents within Cattaraugus County. The department's active positive COVID-19 caseload is now eleven, as there are now one hundred and nine residents who have recovered from COVID-19.
The one hundredth and twenty first confirmed case is a male resident who resides in the southeast quadrant of the county, who reports no significant travel history or any direct contact with a positive COVID-19 person. He developed sinus congestion and sore throat, and was tested for COVID-19 on July 23rd. His test results on July 28th indicated that he was positive for the virus.
The one hundredth and twenty second confirmed case is a female resident who resides in the southeast quadrant of the county, who reports no significant travel history or any direct contact with a positive COVID-19 person. She developed headaches, chills and fatigue and was tested for COVID-19 on July 27th and her test results on July 28th indicated that she was positive for the virus.
The one hundredth and twenty third confirmed case is a female resident who resides in the southeast quadrant of the county, who reports no significant travel history. She is a healthcare worker and reports having direct contact with a positive COVID-19 person. She reports being asymptomatic (no fever, no cough, no body aches, etc.) and was tested for COVID-19 on July 27th and her test results on July 28th indicated that she was positive for the virus.
The one hundredth and twenty fourth confirmed case is a male resident who resides in the southeast quadrant of the county, who reports recent travel from Montana. He is a healthcare worker but denies any direct contact with a positive COVID-19 person. He reports being asymptomatic (no fever, no cough, no body aches, etc.) and was tested for COVID-19 on July 27th as a requirement of all healthcare workers traveling from states with community wide spread of COVID-19. His test results on July 28th indicated that she was positive for the virus.
The department has begun a thorough contact tracing investigation for those individuals that they have been in contact with and the places that they have visited.
