Cattaraugus County Health Department was notified of three additional confirmed cases of COVID-19 residents within Cattaraugus County. The department's active positive COVID-19 caseload is now twenty-two as there are now one hundred and forty-one residents who have recovered from COVID-19.
The one hundred and sixty-fifth confirmed case is a male resident who resides in the southeast quadrant of the county, who denies any significant travel history or being in direct contact with a positive COVID-19 person. He was recently admitted into the hospital with complaints of cough, chills, shortness of breath, chest pains and pneumonia. He was tested for COVID-19 on August 27th and his test results on August 29th indicated that he was positive for the virus.
The one hundred and sixty-sixth confirmed case is a female resident who resides in the southeast quadrant of the county, who denies any significant travel history. She is a direct contact of a positive COVID-19 person and recently developed fever and nausea. She was tested for COVID-19 on August 28th and her test results on August 29th indicated that she was positive for the virus.
The one hundred and sixty-seventh confirmed case is a female resident who resides in the southeast quadrant of the county, who denies any significant travel history or being in direct contact with a positive COVID-19 person. She developed fever, cough, sore throat, headaches and body aches. She was tested for COVID-19 on August 29th and her rapid test result indicated that she was positive for the virus.
The department has begun a thorough contact tracing investigation for those individuals that they have been in contact with and the places that they have visited.
We would like to reiterate that if any resident experience fever, cough, shortness of breath or whole body aches they should contact their health care provider (avoid going directly to an Urgent Care facility, or the Emergency Room before calling).
