Cattaraugus County Health Department was notified of four additional confirmed cases of COVID-19 residents within Cattaraugus County. The department's active positive COVID-19 caseload is now twenty-three as there are now one hundred and forty-six residents who have recovered from COVID-19. 

The one hundred and seventieth confirmed case is a male resident who resides in the northwest quadrant of the county, who denies any significant travel history or being in direct contact with a positive COVID-19 person. He is a healthcare worker who reports being asymptomatic (no fever, no cough, no body aches, etc.). He was tested for COVID-19 on August 27th and his test results on August 27th and his test results on August 31st indicated that he was positive for the virus.

The one hundred and seventy first confirmed case is a female resident who resides in the northeast quadrant of the county, who denies any significant travel history or being in direct contact with a positive COVID-19 person. She is a healthcare worker who reports being asymptomatic (no fever, no cough, no body aches, etc.). She was tested for COVID-19 on August 26th and her test results on August 31st indicated that she was positive for the virus.

The one hundred and seventy second confirmed case is a young female residents who resides in the northwest quadrant of the county, who has no significant travel history. She is a direct contact of a known positive COVID-19 person but her parent reports that she is asymptomatic (no fever, no cough, no body aches, etc.). She was given a rapid COVID-19 test on August 31st and her test result indicated that she was positive for the virus.

The one hundred and seventy third confirmed case is a female resident who resides in the southeast quadrant of the county, who recently traveled to Washington State but denies any direct contact with a known positive COVID-19 person. She is a healthcare worker, who suddenly developed fever, cough, sore throat, nasal congestion, headaches and body aches. She was given a rapid COVID-19 test on September 1st and her test result indicated that she was positive for the virus.

The department has begun a thorough contact tracing investigation for those individuals that they have been in contact with and the places that they have visited.
