Cattaraugus County Health Department was notified of eleven additional confirmed cases of COVID-19 residents within Cattaraugus County. The department’s active positive COVID-19 caseload is now one hundred and twelve as there are three hundred and fifty two residents who have recovered from COVID-19.

The four hundred and seventy second confirmed case is a female resident who resides in the southeast quadrant of the county, who denies any significant travel history. She reports being in direct contact with a positive COVID-19 person and recently developed shortness of breath and fatigue. She was tested for COVID-19 on October 28th as part of the facility’s screening process and her test results on October 30th indicated that she was positive for the virus.

The four hundred and seventy third confirmed case is a female resident who resides in the southeast quadrant of the county, who denies any significant travel history. She reports being in direct contact with a positive COVID-19 person but reports being asymptomatic (no fever, no cough, no body aches, etc.). She was tested for COVID-19 on October 28th as part of the facility’s screening process and her test results on October 30th indicated that she was positive for the virus.

The four hundred and seventy fourth confirmed case is a young female resident who resides in the northeast quadrant of the county, whose parent denies that she had any significant travel history. The parent reports that she was in direct contact with a positive COVID-19 person and recently developed fever and headaches. She was tested for COVID-19 on October 26th and her test results on October 31st indicated that she was positive for the virus.

The four hundred and seventy fifth confirmed case is a female resident who resides in the southeast quadrant of the county, who denies any significant travel history. She reports being in direct contact with a positive COVID-19 person and recently developed headaches and fatigue. She was tested for COVID-19 on October 28th and her test results on October 31st indicated that she was positive for the virus.

The four hundred and seventy sixth confirmed case is a female resident who resides in the southwest quadrant of the county, who denies any significant travel history or being in direct contact with a positive COVID-19 person. She recently developed fever, sore throat, fatigue and muscle aches. She was tested for COVID-19 on October 28th and her test results on October 31st indicated that she was positive for the virus.

The four hundred and seventy seventh confirmed case is a male resident who resides in the southeast quadrant of the county, who denies any significant travel history or being in contact with a positive COVID-19 person. He recently developed fever and congestion. He was tested for COVID-19 on October 29th and his test results on October 31st indicated that he was positive for the virus.

The four hundred and seventy eighth confirmed case is a male resident who resides in the southeast quadrant of the county, who denies any significant travel history. He reports being in contact with a positive COVID-19 person but also reports being asymptomatic (no fever, no cough, no body aches, etc.). He was tested for COVID-19 on October 28th and his test results on October 31st indicated that he was positive for the virus.

The four hundred and seventy ninth confirmed case is a male resident who resides in the southeast quadrant of the county, who recently traveled to Bradford, PA for an event. He denies being in contact with a positive COVID-19 person but recently developed cough, congestion, dizziness, nausea, diarrhea, headaches and body aches. He was tested for COVID-19 on October 30th and his test results on October 31st indicated that he was positive for the virus.

The four hundred and eightieth through the four hundred and eighty second confirmed cases are three female residents who reside in the southeast quadrant of the county and who denies any significant travel history. They report being in direct contact with a positive COVID-19 person and one developed a cough but the other two were asymptomatic (no fever, no cough, no body aches, etc.). They were tested for COVID-19 on October 30th as part of the facility’s screening process and their test results on October 31st indicated that they were positive for the virus.

The department has begun a thorough contact tracing investigation for those individuals that they have been in contact with and the places that they have visited.

We would like to reiterate that if any resident experience fever, cough, shortness of breath or whole body aches they should contact their health care provider (avoid going directly to an Urgent Care facility, or the Emergency Room before calling).

In addition, wash your hands often with soap and water for at least 20 seconds. This is especially important after using the bathroom, coughing, sneezing or blowing your nose.

If soap and water is not available, use an alcohol-based hand sanitizer that contains a minimum of 60% alcohol.

Avoid touching your eyes, nose and mouth, especially with unwashed hands.

Disinfect commonly touched surfaces with a cleaner that is approved by the EPA against COVID-19.
