Cattaraugus County Health Department was notified of nine additional confirmed cases of COVID-19 residents within Cattaraugus County. The department’s active positive COVID-19 caseload is now one hundred and eleven as there are three hundred and eighty residents who have recovered from COVID-19.
The five hundred and first confirmed case is a female resident who resides in the southeast quadrant of the county, who denies any significant travel history or being in direct contact with a positive COVID-19 person. She recently developed a running nose and sneezing. She was given a rapid test for COVID-19 on November 3rd and her test results indicated that she was positive for the virus.
The five hundred and second confirmed case is a female resident who resides in the northeast quadrant of the county, who denies any significant travel history. She reports being in direct contact with a positive COVID-19 person. She recently developed congestion and was tested for COVID-19 on November 2nd. Her test results on November 3rd indicated that she was positive for the virus.
The five hundred and third confirmed case is a female resident who resides in the northeast quadrant of the county, who denies any significant travel history. She is a healthcare worker who reports being in direct contact with a positive COVID-19 person. She recently developed fever, cough, diarrhea, and body aches. She was tested for COVID-19 on November 2nd and her test results on November 3rd indicated that she was positive for the virus.
The five hundred and fourth confirmed case is a male resident who resides in the southeast quadrant of the county, who denies any significant travel history or being in direct contact with a positive COVID-19 person. He reports having a headache and was tested for COVID-19 on November 3rd and his test results on November 4th indicated that he was positive for the virus.
The five hundred and fifth confirmed case is a female resident who resides in the northeast quadrant of the county, who denies any significant travel history. She reports being in direct contact with a positive COVID-19 person and recently developed cough and shortness of breath. She was given a rapid test for COVID-19 on November 4th and her test results indicated that she was positive for the virus.
The five hundred and sixth confirmed case is a female resident who resides in the southeast quadrant of the county, who denies any significant travel history or being in direct contact with a positive COVID-19 person. She recently developed body aches, sweats, and loss of taste and smell. She was tested for COVID-19 on November 1st and her test results on November 4th indicated that she was positive for the virus.
The five hundred and seventh confirmed case is a female resident who resides in the southeast quadrant of the county, who denies any significant travel history or being in direct contact with a positive COVID-19 person. She recently developed congestion, runny nose, loss of taste and smell. She was tested for COVID-19 on October 31st and her test results on November 4th indicated that she was positive for the virus.
The five hundred and eighth confirmed case is a female resident who resides in the northwest quadrant of the county, who denies any significant travel history. She reports being in direct contact with a positive COVID-19 person and recently developed fever, congestion, headaches, vomiting, stiff neck, and loss of taste and smell. She was tested for COVID 19 on October 31st and her test results indicated that she was positive for the virus.
The five hundred and ninth confirmed case is a male resident who resides in the southwest quadrant of the county, who denies any significant travel history or being in direct contact with a positive COVID-19 person. He reports having a cough and was tested for COVID 19 on November 3rd and his test results on November 4th indicated that he was positive for the virus.
The department has begun a thorough contact tracing investigation for those individuals that they have been in contact with and the places that they have visited.
We would like to reiterate that if any resident experience fever, cough, shortness of breath or whole body aches they should contact their health care provider (avoid going directly to an Urgent Care facility, or the Emergency Room before calling).
In addition, wash your hands often with soap and water for at least 20 seconds. This is especially important after using the bathroom, coughing, sneezing or blowing your nose.
If soap and water is not available, use an alcohol-based hand sanitizer that contains a minimum of 60% alcohol.
Avoid touching your eyes, nose and mouth, especially with unwashed hands.
Disinfect commonly touched surfaces with a cleaner that is approved by the EPA against COVID-19.
