Cattaraugus County Health Department was notified of sixteen additional confirmed cases of COVID-19 residents within Cattaraugus County. The department’s active positive COVID-19 caseload is now one hundred and thirty six as there are four hundred and forty four residents who have recovered from COVID-19.
The five hundred and eighty sixth confirmed case is a female resident who resides in the southeast quadrant of the county, who denies any significant travel history or being in direct contact with a positive COVID-19 person. She recently developed chills, congestion and running nose and was tested for COVID-19 on November 10th and her test results on November 12th indicated that she was positive for the virus.
The five hundred and eighty seventh confirmed case is a female resident who resides in the southeast quadrant of the county, who denies any significant travel history. She reports being in direct contact with a positive COVID-19 person. She recently developed cough, sore throat, headaches, body aches and loss of taste and loss of smell. She was tested for COVID-19 on November 9th and her test results on November 12th indicated that she was positive for the virus.
The five hundred and eighty eighth confirmed case is a male resident who resides in the southwest quadrant of the county, who denies any significant travel history or being in direct contact with a positive COVID-19 person. He recently developed fever, cough, nausea, vomiting, diarrhea, and loss of taste and loss of smell. He was tested for COVID-19 on November 9th and his test results on November 12th indicated that he was positive for the virus.
The five hundred and eighty ninth confirmed case is a male resident who resides in the southeast quadrant of the county, who denies any significant travel history. He reports being in direct contact with a positive COVID-19 person and recently developed fever, congestion and headaches. She is a healthcare worker who recently developed fever, cough, headaches body aches. She was given a rapid test for COVID-19 on November 12th and her test results indicated that she was positive for the virus.
The five hundred and ninety third confirmed case is a female resident who resides in the southeast quadrant of the county, who denies any significant travel history or being in direct contact with a positive COVID-19 person. She recently developed cough congestion and running nose. She was given a rapid test for COVID-19 on November 13th and her test results indicated that she was positive for the virus.
The five hundred ninety fourth, ninety fifth and the ninety sixth confirmed cases are three residents (mother, father and son) who reside in the northeast quadrant of the county, who denies any significant travel history. They report being in direct contact with a positive COVID-19 person. The mother developed fever but the other two reports being asymptomatic (no fever, no cough, no body aches, etc.). They were given a rapid test for COVID-19 on November 13th and their test results on indicated that they were positive for the virus.

She was given a rapid test for COVID-19 on November 13th and her test results indicated that she was positive for the virus.

He recently developed cough, fatigue, shortness of breath, headaches, body aches, and loss of taste. He was given a rapid test for COVID-19 on November 13th and his test results indicated that he was positive for the virus.

He reports being in direct contact with a positive COVID-19 person but also reports being asymptomatic (no fever, no cough, no body aches etc.). He was given a rapid test for COVID-19 on November 13th and his test results indicated that he was positive for the virus.
The department has begun a thorough contact tracing investigation for those individuals that they have been in contact with and the places that they have visited.
We would like to reiterate that if any resident experience fever, cough, shortness of breath or whole body aches they should contact their health care provider (avoid going directly to an Urgent Care facility, or the Emergency Room before calling).
In addition, wash your hands often with soap and water for at least 20 seconds. This is especially important after using the bathroom, coughing, sneezing or blowing your nose.
If soap and water is not available, use an alcohol-based hand sanitizer that contains a minimum of 60% alcohol.
Avoid touching your eyes, nose and mouth, especially with unwashed hands.
Disinfect commonly touched surfaces with a cleaner that is approved by the EPA against COVID-19.
