The Process
A bipartisan team of Board of Elections employees will be available to oversee both sites to maintain a smooth voting process.
Voting during early voting will be very similar to voting on Election Day. For early voting, the voter will sign in on an electronic poll book and a ballot will print specific to their election district. After marking the ballot, they may then cast the ballot at the voting machine.
If a voter casts a ballot during early voting they are NOT eligible to cast a ballot on Election Day or on a subsequent day of early voting!
There will be sample ballots, a notice to voter and bill of rights posted. If the voter has any questions they may ask an election inspector.
Early voting votes will be canvassed and reported after 9pm on Election Day.
Cattaraugus County BOE will provide the locations and hours of the early voting sites (a clear notice to voters that if a voter casts a ballot during early voting the voter will not be allowed to vote on election day or on a subsequent day of early voting) to all media and will place the information on our county website. Cattaraugus County BOE will post the Early Voting schedule and information on the county website and print the information on the annual mail check mailing; and share this information with: Cattaraugus County Party Chairmen, Candidates, Post Offices, DMV, City/Town Clerks.
