Cattaraugus County Department of Economic Development, Planning and Tourism (EDPT) intends to apply for a Community Development Block Grant through the Microenterprise program which is funded by the New York State Office of Community Renewal (OCR). The funds from the grant will allow Cattaraugus County EDPT to set up a grant fund for individuals in need of assistance with getting their new business off the ground as well as current micro businesses in need of funds to help grow. The Cattaraugus County Micro Grant Program will provide multiple $10,000 grants to qualifying businesses, with a focus on start ups.
At this time, EDPT is in need of letters of interest from individuals that may be interested in starting a new business or existing microenterprises. Please note a microenterprise is defined as having less than 5 employees including the owner. Having letters of interest will help to strengthen the application for funding the program. Please fill out the form in order to submit your letter of interest to be included in the application. You may create a letter of interest for the Micro Grant Program online on the Catt. County Data Portal.
It is important to note that funding for the program is not guaranteed to be awarded to Cattaraugus County and the submission of a letter of interest does not guarantee funding for an applicant. There are several requirements in order for a business to receive funding and limitations on what the funds can be used for.
