The Cattaraugus County Health Department's (CCHD) preventive services work to prevent disease before it happens. Studies show preventive public health measures are often more economically efficient in addressing both chronic and acute illness. The CCHD utilizes a number of strategies including: Immunization, screening, environmental contaminate investigation, and most importantly education to address a number of public health issues in the county.
