The Environmental Health Division is charged with permit issuance and inspection of several types of establishments, facilities and activities, which may impact public health.  Below is a list of facilities and activities, which may require a "Permit to Operate" from the Health Department.  Additional information regarding each facility type may be found using the following links.

Note that NYS Law requires that proof of workers compensation and disability insurance (or a certificate of exemption) must be submitted to this Department prior to the issuance of any "Permit to Operate."

Please contact this Department in advance if you intend to operate one of these facilities or activities.  Certain facility/activity types have Sanitary Code requirements pertaining to the construction and equipment that will be used.  A facility plan review may also be necessary, which should be done prior to construction to avoid possible code issues.

Although realty subdivisions do not require a permit from the Cattaraugus County Health Department, review and approval of engineering plans is required to ensure compliance with NYS Public Health Law and NYS Environmental Conservation Law.  Please contact the Environmental Health Director, Robert Ring at (716)701-3437 or RWRing@cattco.org for more information.

Catt. County is an Accredited Health Department by the Public Health Accreditation Board (PHAB)
