Western NY

Restoration in the southwest region will be complete for the majority of customers by midnight tonight, with isolated pockets and scattered single customer outages restored in the localized hardest hit areas Sunday morning.

If you were without power during the recent snow storm in Cattaraugus County and you lost food as a result of that power outage, the Cattaraugus County Department of Social Services may be able to help.

If you buy groceries with SNAP benefits you may be able to get some of your SNAP dollars added back to your EBT card but you have to act fast!

To apply, complete the attached application and return it to the Cattaraugus County Department of Social Services SNAP Unit before March 15, 2018. You can apply by mail or in person between 8am and 5pm Monday through Friday.

The Cattaraugus County Department of the Aging's Senior Wellness and Nutrition (SWAN) program, along with elected officials throughout Cattaraugus County, recently participated in the 2018 March for Meals' annual Community Champions Campaign. Across the United States, Meals on Wheels programs enlisted elected officials, local celebrities, and other prominent figures to deliver meals, speak out for seniors, and raise awareness of the power of Meals on Wheels.

The Cattaraugus County Department of the Aging's Retired and Senior Volunteer Program (RSVP) needs your help. There is an immediate need for volunteers to deliver Meals on Wheels in the Olean area.

Meals on Wheels are delivered throughout the Olean area Monday through Friday. Most volunteers deliver 10-16 meals once a week, and it takes about one hour to complete a delivery route.
