The Cattaraugus County Sheriff’s Office has issued a TRAVEL ADVISORY for Southern Cattaraugus County until further notice. Heavy lake-effect snow is making travel difficult with slippery roads and poor visibility especially along Interstate-86 in Western Cattaraugus County.

Motorists are asked to avoid unnecessary travel in these areas until further notice.

The Cattaraugus County Sheriff’s Office has lifted the Travel Advisory that was issued on November 29, 2024 at 9:45PM. Conditions have improved however the forecast calls for heavy lake effect snow to continue through the weekend. 


Motorists are encouraged to allow extra time to reach their destination and be aware of rapidly changing weather conditions.

The Cattaraugus County Sheriff’s Office has issued a TRAVEL ADVISORY for all of Cattaraugus County until further notice. Heavy lake-effect snow is making travel difficult across the county, especially in Northern and Western Cattaraugus County. Motorists are asked to avoid unnecessary travel. First Responders are handling several accidents and vehicles off the roadway. Please use caution.

The next Planning Board Meeting will be held on November 21, 2024 at 6:30 PM at the Cattaraugus County Center Building in Little Valley, NY

The planning division serves as staff to the 13-member County Planning Board, which must act upon referrals from local municipalities sent to the county under Section 239 I of New York State General Municipal Law. The staff makes recommendations to the County Planning Board regarding these referrals.
