Congratulations to Deputy Devine Leacock of the Cattaraugus County Sheriff's Office for being chosen as Youth Officer of the Year by the State of New York Police Juvenile Officers Association.  His hard work and dedication to the children of our county is apparent to our office every day.  For the state to acknowledge the work that he has done is very rewarding.    Deputy Leacock currently works for the Cattaraugus-Allegany BOCES as SRO.  He was previously SRO at Allegany-Limestone Central and Pioneer Central. 

The Cattaraugus County Sheriff's Office has issued a warning to its residents about scam artists reportedly calling from 938-9191.

The scam states that the person has a warrant and must contact 727-474-1003 to take care of this warrant.  The agency attached to this phone number is US Legal Support out of Clearwater, Florida.  The scam artist is posing as a representative from US Legal Support.  Do not release any personal information or return any calls to this number.

If such a call is received, residents are encouraged to call their local police agency.

Cattaraugus County Economic Development, Planning and Tourism is currently requesting proposals for the printing of the Cattaraugus County Ag Trail Brochure. 

The brochure will have an original size of 16" x 9" for each page, with a total of 5 (16x9) pages, and include text and graphics on both sides, using four color processing. Original size pages (5)(80# paper) are then stacked, stapled in middle, then folded in half then half again to create 4" x 9".

With severe weather events becoming more frequent and more extreme, it is more important than ever that New Yorkers are prepared for disasters. The NY Citizen Preparedness Training Program teaches residents to have the tools and resources to prepare for any type of disaster, respond accordingly and recover as quickly as possible to pre-disaster conditions. The training course will provide an introduction to responding to a natural or man-made disaster.

Road Closure - County Road 80 in the Town of Farmersville

News from Public Works, Posted on Tue, 10/16/2018 - 3:00pm 

The Cattaraugus County Department of Public Works will be closing County Road 80 (Laidlaw Road) between Peavy Road and Pigeon Hill Road in the Town of Farmersville at 8am on Tuesday, October 23, 2018 for three (3) days for a culvert replacement.  An off-site detour will be posted for vehicular traffic.

Season opens November 13, 2018

The Cattaraugus County Department of the Aging will be assisting individuals age 60 and over with HEAP applications. Senior citizens in Cattaraugus County who received a regular HEAP benefit last HEAP season will receive an application by mail this year.

Maximum income eligibility guidelines are $2,391 per month for a household of one, and $3,127 for a two-person household. Higher income limits exist for larger households.
